In the following post, I’ll share my experiences using 2 astonishingly affordable camera lenses for astrophotography. I shoot with both full-frame and APS-C-sized sensor Canon DSLRs, so the lenses are both made by Canon. The Canon EF 50mm F/1.8 STM, and the Rokinon 14mm F/2.8 wide-angle lens.

I trialled the D780 extensively with the Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 lens, and in good light it performed very well. If you put the 70-200mm f/2.8 or the 200-400mm f/4 on the camera, it performs even better – but that is what I would expect from the higher quality dream-team lenses.

Nikon has discontinued the D3500, but you can still find it at many online retailers. That’s a good thing, because it’s an ideal choice for beginners looking to sharpen their photography skills.
While the Nikon D800 and D7000 are two of the finest examples of dynamic range on the market today, the Canon equivalents are still pretty awesome. The Nikon D3200 is a subtle, yet important update over its predecessor. Sporting a high-resolution 24.2 MP DX-format CMOS sensor, full HD video recording capability and a lightweight camera body, the D3200 is a very capable DSLR camera for beginner photographers.

Battery life is decent, allowing you to take approximately 600 shots before needing to recharge. However, it's always a good idea to have spare batteries on hand for longer shoots. 3. There are plenty of good lens choices for the EOS Rebel SL3/250D, including Canon’s own EF-S 10-18mm f/3.5-4.5 USM, or the Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM lens, both of which are highly affordable.
